چکیده

Land cover assessment plays a vital role in both current and future planning use of natural resources for sustainable development any country. For the good practice vision 2030 Al Baha region (south-western Saudi Arabia), land was assessed, classified, analyzed using remote sensing databases time series analysis combined with spatial geographic information system (GIS) based on high-resolution Landsat 8 OLI, Sentinel-2 satellite imagery between period study 2017/2018 2021/2022. Based an accuracy kappa test, results indicate that Esri gives highest performance compared to OLI test equal 87% 84%, respectively. On other hand, classification revealed large area water bodies is localized Alaqiq (1.45 km2), Baljurish (0.94 Elmelkhwah (1.57 km2). Furthermore, built 2017 2021 estimated increase by 144 km2 (from 516.5 661.07 which especially significant Qelwah district 16.97 44.16 km2) demonstrated decrease bare ground approximately 320 km2. The crop lands have been increased 162.74% 2017–2021 from 10.39 16.90 km2, particularly at Elmelkhwah. Finally, obtained this research can help decision-makers managers better management region.

Land cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing

Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
